Melanie And The Miners strike - Idea
Melanie And The Miners strike - Idea
Description
Of course, the book has everything and nothing to do with the miners' strike - the images speak for themselves. They tell the story of Melanie and the people she photographed. In an age without cell phones, Melanie and her friends weren't art or university students: they were born in Leeds, had left school and were working in Leeds. These shots were taken with no particular intention - just Melanie and her friends, on ordinary weekends.
We are fortunate that Melanie took these photos, and that Victoria found and recognized them for what they are: something special.
